My name is Sara and I'm inspired by the practices of Yoga, which makes me always a Student and a Teacher. You will often find me with a notebook in hand, scribbling plans, or inspiring pieces for class & life.
I remember my first Yoga class. A friend asked me to join her for a Yoga class at an Ashtanga school called North Sydney Yoga. We changed out of our corporate wear into some stretchy stuff, fast forward an hour and a half, when I walked out of that studio, wowzers, I felt so different. There was a shift in me, I was calm, breathing steady, I tell all my friends "I felt like a shirt that had all the creases ironed out".
That class was just over 20 years ago. Since then I’ve enjoyed many different styles of Yoga from Ashtanga Yoga, Bikram Yoga, Power Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga. In 2010 I took the plunge and embarked on a 1 year 350 Hatha Yoga Teacher Training. It was a wonderful challenging year, full of aha moments, of learning new things, learning a new language (Sanskrit), facing many challenges, and in December that year I graduated.
My classes are a mixture of movement, meditation, pranayama and lately sweet beloved singing bowls.
Yoga has so much to teach us. How we show up on the mat is how we show up in life afterall.
