I've been admiring so many Yoga Teachers, bloggers, Instagramers, artists that I'm feeling a bit ungrounded, a bit scatty, like I've sort of misplaced my anchor. This happens every now and again, I feel like I recognise it much sooner than before, and am able to self-correct pretty quickly.
One way to get myself "right side up" is to make a list, which gets me out of my busy "monkey mind" and back to centre pretty damn quick. Here's my list (as of todays date, as it changes year to year):
Meditation (ohhhh 3 x m's there!!)
Good nurturing food
Riding my bike
Laughing with my family
Talking with my best ever girl friends
Coffee with my Dad
My car (cause its a super cute Mini)
Star gazing before bed
Long walks with Teddy (super cute cavoodle)
The Guesthouse Poem by Rumi (todays class theme!)
The Yoga Sutras // So practical
The Bhagavad Gita // So much love, devotion, honouring. Just those words make me feel gooey
The most simple and swift way to centre from my personal experience, and also mentioned in the Yoga Sutras is to sit quietly with the breath.
Lighting a candle to illuminate my space, and sit quietly noticing my breath.
