I want to ask.... do you know what that feels like?
Can you feel into that photo?
Do you have an activity that you do where you feel totally immersed, not thinking about anything or anyone else?
This is devoted attention for sure.
I captured this moment on Lake Pushkar in March, I was blessed to have the honour of seeing this gentleman perform his ritual. Feeling one part fascinated and one part awkward (clicking away with my iPhone) I felt so drawn to him, and wanted to know the detail of what he was doing. Can you relate? I'm sure you've seen someone performing a ritual or a ceremony and wondered about the why? Wanted to know the detail? I'm 100% sure that you have and that you know what I mean when I say I found it hard to move on.
I adore Ritual. It has become such a blessing in my life, on the mat, in the kitchen, on my Altar, in the bath, in the backyard. Its now a common word, many books discuss ritual and self care. I think that they are intrinsically linked, its in caring for the self that we take time for ritual. This activity brings us into a state of alignment and when done with intention and devotion, can be a Sattvic activity.
Ritual is a blessing!
Ritual is a way of being in the moment, that brings you so much its actually astonishing.
Ritual can be simple or intricate.
Ritual involves you coming home to your true SELF.
